Re: help my 96 wont start

Check to make sure all your O2 sensors and the like are plugged into the right spot. I know that sounds like a "duh" response - but I had the same thing about a year ago, confounded the mechanics for hours, switched one set of O2 plugs...vrroom. go figure.

Re: help my 96 wont start

who said anything about buying new ones....

swap the plugs around a bit - the sensors in the front right off the manifold have the same harness plug, easy to get confused. If they aren't plugged into the right spot, the ecu gets the wrong read, and ppbbtthhfff.

got all your wires and plugs in the right spot?
are all the ingnition wires connected?
blow any fuses on the first crank?
vaccum hoses all connected?
is the battery good?
is the distributor clean?
is the alternator in working condition?
are the pulleys lubed? - sometimes they get some corrosion and rust after sitting for a while and get stuck (at least, they do on Dodge Dusters...long story)
did you feed the gremlins that live in the engine? you didn't get them wet did you?

a million and one things could be the cause brutha...just be patient, take your time, check everything twice. Make up a checklist, go through it, calmly and thoroughly...most mechanic's mistakes are made when they get tired and frustrated and it's always something dumb.

good luck
