Changing spark plugs 3.4l 94 olds supreme
Hi,
Does the engine have to be rotated to change the back plugs on the 3.4L engine? If not how are they accessed? Thanks |

Welcome to AF !
u sure its not a 3.1 in ur 94 ? Anyway, you just hav to grin and yell to get back there. A short extention and maybe a swivle sparkplug socket. You should not hav to rotate anything. The coil packs are probly in the way, but this job is done pretty much blind, totally be feel Good Luck

Re: Changing spark plugs 3.4l 94 olds supreme
Thanks, I was afraid of that.
Definitely a 3.4. I can't even remove the wires, they are blocked by a support that extends between the struts. Its only about an inch or so wide, but just enough to block access. Could this be a support only on the convertible? I have the shop manual for a 92 Lumina, but the 3.4 diagrams do not show this support. |

OK, you might hav to remove that and if I remember right the upper intake might even hav to be removed for ease of acess.
A spark plug boot tool works best, since they probly hav that metal heat shield on them. And be carfull If you use a swivle type sockets, sometime shear force can break the plug off in the head and thats no good !
