oldsmobile bravada shift lever
Hi, I have a 1997 olds bravada. Yesterday I got into the truck and couldn't push the button on the shift lever to move it out of park. Finally got it moved so I could drive it , however now I can't get it into reverse or park because the button won't push in. -which also interferes with being able to take the keys out. Anyone know what the problem is? Thanks

Re: oldsmobile bravada shift lever
could be the brake pedal interlock. check for a blown fuse or replace the brake pedal switch. it costs less than $10 and is easy to get to, if you're a double jointed midget, I'm 6'2" and managed to squeeze under there eventualy.
it's a two stage switch, not really sure if the interlock is on the first click (the cruise control cancel) or the second click (the brake lights circuit) but it's not worth the time and effort to diagnose, just replace it and see what happens. |
