Spark Plugs 3.3L 89 Cierra
I have an 89 3.3L Cutluss Ceirra.
I am trying to change the spark plugs, but I can't get to them! My last car was an 88 Honda Prelude, extremly easy to change the plugs. But this Olds is much harder. I've looked at manuals in Autozone (Hanes) and the Online stuff at autozone and they all give direction for a completley differnet engine. Mine is a distributless, EFI engine; and I can't get the boots out from under the metal block that sits on top of them. I've removed all the bolts and clips on the metal block. Their are fuel rails connecting to the metal block that I don't want to remove unless I have to. Any advice. Anyone familiar with this engine? |

Re: Spark Plugs 3.3L 89 Cierra
i have a 92' ciera with the same engine. On mine, I didn't need to remove anything. I used a spark plug socket and a driver without any problem..The engine needs to be cool however as you'll need to rock the boot side to side while pulling. Grab it by the metal part and they should seperate without too much effort.
That was my experience anyway, good luck to you |

Re: Spark Plugs 3.3L 89 Cierra
they sell a tool that removes those stuborn boots.
Which ones are you having troubles with, the back side? You really should not hav to remove the ignition block. heres a tip , when you get them off, be sure to use some silicone stuff for the plugs boots. Makes it real easy the next time they need to be removed.
