How do I prime/paint a spoiler?

I recently decided to get back into modeling after about a decade and brought a damn expensive Fujimi Evo VII SR. I feel quite dissapointed with it, the interior is pathetic! It looks like it's been stripped for parts by street kids...I'm forced to make my own seat belts so it doesn't look completely crap.
The problem I have right now is that it has a silly little three peice spoiler. I've already started priming the body and left off the spoiler, but I can't assemble to spoiler without attaching it to the body and I can't do that until i prime/paint the spoiler...So what the heck am I supposed to do?

BTW, does anyone make a 1998-2002 Mazda MX-5?

You prime+paint the spoiler pieces separately then glue them on to the finished car body.
