what are you talking about man ? if you set the time on your TT, when you turn the car off, TT will activate and let the car run, until what ever time you set. when it done it will turn off, sorry I cant really understand what you mean .

Re: Turbo Timer

Re: Turbo Timer

I had that same problem too on my 91 eclipse. Sometimes the turbo timer wouldnt kick on when i turned the key, resulting in the car shutting off and me frantically starting the car back up to save precious oil and turbo life. I never figured out what the problem was, but make sure there is a good connection with the parking brake. if you installed it correctly, you should have a kill switch wire running to the parking brake sensor, so that if the parking brake were to be disengaged(pull the e-brake lever down) the car would shut off. this keeps people from stealing your car while its running. make sure that connection is good, and everytime you shut off your car, get in the habit of pulling the parking brake, even automatic. also just make sure all other connections are tight too. other than that, i have no clue.

ps- btw what does "dual" turbo timer mean?

Re: Turbo Timer

Hmm...see I hooked up the brake kill switch to the regular brake wire....so that if I push in my brake pedal it kills the car....but I will try to connect it to the parking brake and try that...

As far as the dual...It doubles as a boost gauge...and there are 2 ways to determine how long to leave the car running after the ignition is turned off...You can manually set a time...and the other one is set with a couple of wires hooked into the ECU speed sensor and will determine how much you are accelerating to figure out how hard the turbo is working...the faster you accelerate the more the timer goes up....and it adjusts itself while driving at constant speeds as well as idleling...unfortunatly no matter which one I choose it is still really random on when it works.

Re: Turbo Timer

Hmm....well try to keep it at manual time, thats what i always did. I left mine at 40 seconds on the stock 14b, with about 50,000 miles on it or so. It seems to me that if you hooked it up to the regular brake and SOMETIMES the timer works, then it shouldnt matter if you switch the parking brake. you get what i mean? i dunno, try it. good luck
