So when do you use / not use Nitrous?

My friend just got a 50 shot hooked up in his h/b (one in my sig).
Anyhow, the guy who hooked it up said NEVER to spray in first and fifth gear and he should be at least at 5k rpm's.
Any other things to take into consideration when spraying?

What are the advantages / disadvantages of not having a button to have the N20 kick in? >>> His comes on after he flips the switch and then when the accelerator is floored the N20 is sent through the motor!

Thanks for any input!

i think that between 3500 and right before redline are the best times for it. dose he have the zex kit? because if he dose then i think the computer adds more fuel or less so you don't go to rich or too lean. but don't hit the rev limiter. that= bad times for your engine.

zex kit here

i have the zex kit installed by myself. i usually hit it in 2nd gear at about 20-25 mph, well below 5k rpm. i ve hit it in every gear 1st thru 5th with no problems. i even know a guy with the same kit that locks his e brake and hits it in 1st gear for MASSIVE burn outs.

If you are running NOS you definetly want to hook up an air fuel guage to your O2 sensor to monitor your mixture.
hitting the rev limiter is not a good idea when you have nos pumping but as far as hitting it in a certain gear, it shouldn't be a problem, just don't hit it at too low of an rpm. there are a lot of technical aspects of NOS that i recomend you learn so that you will have a better understandinbg of how to safeguard yourself from detonation. if you have any detailed questions feel free to ask, i have done a lot of research on the topic and may be able to help you out.

The air/fuel gauge will be worthless without a wideband o2 sensor.
You can spray in first safely, the reason ppl say not to is because of traction issues.

Always spray above 3000.

Don't spray in fifth as it's a weak gear that can't handle the extra power.

Hooking an AF meter to the existing honda o2 sensors will give inaccurate results. They're basically just a bunch of lights dancing around and don't really mean anything. A wideband 02 sensor in combination with the a/f gauge is the only way to get the results you're looking for. But it doesn't come cheap.

The ones with the buttons are from Fast and Furious.

The ones that operate at WOT are in real life.

Well said

You don't say "I need NAWWWS" throw 2 big bottles in your car, have a laptop sitting on your dash and buttons on your steering wheel. I use an MSD RPM Pill switch and a wot switch, so I don't spray unless I'm at Wide Open Throttle (hense the WOT switch) and unless I'm atleast at 3100 RPM's, and it kills it at 7000 (I shift at 6700, rev limiter set at 7200)

Nitrous burnouts won't destroy your engine, but if you need nitrous to do a burnout it's pretty pathetic.
