Hey everybody!
Ok, I know that some cars have biturbos in them. The question that I have is that can you have a biturbo system with two different sized turbos ie: 1 smaller turbo to spool up quickly, while a bigger turbo handles the higher RPMs (I think it's also called sequential turboing)? Also, for such a setup, I would also need to use two intercoolers, right? Would this sort of setup be possible on the WRX, with the smaller turbo hooked up to the small intercooler under the hood scoop, and a larger intercooler for the bigger turbo up front? Or would this whole setup just be not as good as a standard (two turbos same size) biturbo setup? Thanx for answering! |

It is called sequential turboing some racing cars are set up that way as far as if it would work good on a wrx i dont know never met any one who actually did it, people have talked about it but I have never seen it done yet. There was a long forum about this some where Im sure this will trun into a long debate, but i would say not on a WRX because it takes a lot to spool turbos. Two I think wouldnt work but that just me.

yeah you could do it, and they could both even use the same intercooler, 2 inlets, 1 out. the smaller turbo with take a moment longer to spool than with 2 intercoolers, but i doubt it would be enough to notice.
