97 contour 2.5 Cam Chain tensioner question
1997 contour 2.5l DOHC 130K miles.
I just replaced a broken valve spring without removing the Timing chain cover and seal. And now I'm trying to get the chain and cam sprockets to align back up and can't get the chain to reach over the sprockets, due to the tensioner. Is there a way to compress the tensioner without removing the timing chain cover? I really don't want to remove the oil pan, timing chain cover etc. If you have any ideas, I want to hear. Thanks Bob The engine was idling terribly and found that the vavle spring was broken and no compression in the cylinder. |

Re: 97 contour 2.5 Cam Chain tensioner question
You will have to remove the cover to get to the tensioner.
