Worth the buy??

hey guys im new to the bmw forum but ive been here before.

im just wondering i found a 1985 325e Coupe on craiglist near me for about 550$

http://cleveland.craigslist.org/car/169216731.html

uhmm im wondering is that a good value?? the car basicaly runs but it needs some obvious tune ups. i found a web site called brimmer wholesale parts and some of the things there for the 325e look quite cheap.

so is it worth the buy??

According to the ad you'll be putting in at least another 1000$ before it even runs right. I'd say nope. You'll need brakes all around and if it's been sitting for a year especially if it's been sitting outside more than likely it's gone to rust. You have to take because the e30s and e36s are susceptible to rust.

Cheers,
Ronin

Re: Worth the buy??

Well if you like the car thats all up to you.But i'm here to tell you that a 2.5 eng. at the lowest brings 400-700 bucks. If you wanted to part it out you'd get alot more then $550, like I said thats all up to you man.

Re: Worth the buy??

I just got a 320i for $1000 and it needs about 200-300 to be good as new. But it is nice and runs good. I would gladly pay $550 for a good or could be good running one. I bought mine in Germany where they are supposed to be cheaper LOL
