water pump housing in 1995 achieva
Hi, everyone I'm new here and my 95 achieva has been having some leaking isuses. My mechanic said that the water pump itself is fine but it's the housing that is leaking. He does not know the name of the part so that makes it hard for me to go and get it so maybe one of you fine people could assist me in figuring out the name of this part. My mechanic describes it as an aluminum piece that connects the water pump to the timing belt. Thanks for your help!

Re: water pump housing in 1995 achieva
I'll assume you are talking about a quad4 engine. The part that connects the pump to the timing chain is the water pump drive. Is it leaking water or oil? If oil it could be the pump to drive gasket. If water it is the water pump. Do yourself a favor and find a mechanic that knows how to work on quads or at least has a repair manual for them.
