Quiet Tuning/Reliability/Options

My wife has the 03' Rendezvous CX and loves it. It's been great for us so far. We've had some very major work done to it, but overall, we enjoy it. I have considered, since she likes it so much, replacing the 03' with a newer model in the next couple of years, but want some input before I get too far ahead of myself.

First, the 06' models have the "Quiet Tuning", supposedly making it quieter than the 02'-05' models. Has anyone driven both to be able to give input on this claim? I like the ride of our car, but it does have a fair amount of road noise. I wonder if the Quiet Tuning really makes a difference that warrants looking only at the 06' models.

Second, it's pretty well known that the 02'-03' models have had more than their share of reliability issues. Does anyone have knowledge about the 04'-05'-06' models' reliability. I can check Consumer Reports, but thought I'd ask here first.

Last, my wife wishes that her Rendezvous had the Head-Up Display like my Park Avenue has. We know that this option is not very common, but does anyone know if there are Rendezvous' ( Rendezvouses...Rendezvi ? ) that have the HUD, but with cloth seats. The wife does not like leather at all and would probably choose cloth over HUD if it came down to it...but complaining through it all.

Thanks for your help

Re: Quiet Tuning/Reliability/Options

For quit ride, a rubberized under coating (under, doors, fenders) and under the carpets ticker felt padding or one layer over the existing one will improve quietness & resale value
Be sure not to block drain holes at doors bottom

Re: Quiet Tuning/Reliability/Options

Thanks, there's supposed to be an outfit around here that does the undercoating...I'll look into that.
