Angry More Questions on my car.

I have a chevy blazer s-10 1993 with a 'w' engine, an early model '94. I just got a new starter and got it running again after it sat around for almost two months. Before the starter I got a new ERG valve put in.

The mechanic got it running but the car idles rough when I'm at a light, it shakes. It wants to cut off but doesn't. Since getting it back on Saturday it only cut off once so far.

When starting up the engine there's black sout where the exhaust pipe blows out dark exhaust at first. There's not alot of smoke but there's gas smell that normally one is not suppose to smell. I was told the engine is getting more gas than usual.

I'd like to get some sense of what the problem is before it gets severe again.
Thanks

Re: More Questions on my car.

Black smoke means the engine is running rich (too much gas)

You can't search for three letter words. Info about the CPI and Nut Kit are in the FAQ at the top of the forum.
