1973 Plymouth Satellite Stupid Questions?
Alright everyone i appreciate you reading this. I just bought a satellite and i have no idea how to turn the high beams on. I get the parking lights when i first pull the knob out. And the next time i get all four lights on. Did these cars have high and low beam? Oh the steering wheel doesn't seem to have a horn in it. Was there one in these cars or did they come without a horn? Might be stupid questions but i am out a vehicle and i just bought this one to get around. Only snag is i need to get its inspection sticker asap. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Remember, the only stupid question is the one not asked.
The cars of the 1970's are just a bit different than modern cars, so I can understand your confusion. Just as confusing as a teenager today when they first encounter a rotary dial telephone. High Beams - The switch for the high beams is a round, metal button on the floor below the parking brake pedal. Find this button and press it with your left foot. Each time you press it, it will click and either turn on or off the high beams. Horn - If you have a 3-spoke steering wheel, there should be buttons on the end of each spoke that you press with your thumb. If you have a Tuff steering wheel, the horn button is in the center hub (Somehow, though, I don't think you have one of these). Some deluxe edition Mopars came with a "Rim Blow" steering wheel. These have a soft rubber strip on the inside of the steering wheel rim. This was designed so that when hand was gripping the wheel, you could honk the horn by squeezing the strip with your fingertips. Now, of course, this assumes you have a factory installed steering wheel. Another possibility for no horn has to do with the horn relay. The Mopars of the early 1970's had a "key in ignition" buzzer. This buzzer made noise when you had the ignition key in the ignition lock and you opened the driver door. Well, Chrysler, in their infinite wisdom, designed this buzzer in with the horn relay and plugged it into the fuse box. People who didn't like the key buzzer quickly unplugged them from the fuse box to stop the annoying noise. But disabling this buzzer also disabled the horn circuit. I learned this the hard way in our 1971 Dodge Charger. Do you hear a buzzer when you open the driver door with the key in the ignition? If not, your horn relay may be missing. Anyway, check out these features and let us know if you have any questions or comments.
