72' 442
i was wondering...i have a 72' 442 it has a 350 rocket, 2 barrel rochester, turbo 350, it also has air conditioning bench front seat, column shift, traction bars and anti-sway bars...it seems like a mixture of a cutlass and 442..i was wondering if this is a rare combo or was this a typical car...all numbers match and im the second owner...72000 miles
....it is burnt orange with white stripes and white interior..all factory

Re: 72' 442
Didnt know if you were still wondering about your 442, but it Sounds like you hav a stock 442.
I hav had a few, they hav had both bench seats(atuos) buckets(manual). As far as suspension they all hav tractio/sway bars. What model is the 442, is it S or J, or SJ ? If you hav a 4barrel w/stick 455rocket and swivle buckets, w/sport gauges, then you'd hav your self a rarer find, the 72k is good though, and if I were you, I'd keep the car Forever! I hav 3 76' 442's now(thier all rust buckets) one day I hope to make One thats rust free, and w/455 rocket out of a 75'.

Re: 72' 442
ya I hav seen several 72's w/350's, most had been switched to a 4brl.
Clone is a big possibility too, Not hard to do with a Cutlass. After 72' the HP went down, as with many other cars at that time. Say Good By to HP & Big Blocks
