Re: how do you know if center dif is out

If the center diff's spider gears are broken, the car will bind up in tight turns. It's not uncommon to see a DSMer doing figure 8s in the back of the pits after a mean launch to make sure nothing broke If you cut the case in half (I only know 2 other cases besides me on this one) the car won't move unless you have a welded VC or VC eliminator. Similar situation if the tcase is broken.

well like when i turn it turns tight and it is like the car locks up and feels like the rear wheels slip like something is broke.

I think a bit of both Killer, but from Kevins above post, I would think its the launching that actually does it in.

I never launch my car before, but I fell the car move fast on every stop light. I will try to launch the car, after the dealer fix the leak, that will be tomorrow.

Re: how do you know if center dif is out

Wheelhop is the number one killer of center diffs, which naturally occurs most often on a launch. The trouble comes when the pieces of the spider gears get out and ruin the rest of the tranny

Re: how do you know if center dif is out

I'm pretty sure we decided it was the center diff. The tcase has nothing to do with this. I guess I have to start putting less info in my posts.

Pull the diff to see if it's broke, and to send it out for an upgrade. Speed Design has always been good to me. Shep can also do it if you have to send the tranny to get rebuilt. Which brings us to the next point. While the tranny is opened up to pull the diff, check the rest of the parts for damage. If you are not capable of doing this yourself, send the whole tranny out to shep or TRE for repair/upgrade.
