Re: 95' Cutlass Cierra Power window problem

My wife has the same car with the same problem on the driver's side window. It goes down fine, but when we try to put it up, it goes part way up and we have to let it sit for a minutes before it will go up anymore. Sometimes it takes several minutes to get it to roll up. If it gets any worse, I'll probably try to find a replacement window motor at a junkyard.

Hi

I have the same problem with the drivers side window in my supreme.
Did you ever find out what the problem is. Some one told me its the ground on
the motor but I haven't taken it apart yet.

Thanks

Re: 95' Cutlass Cierra Power window problem

Hi fstilts,

I haven't found the problem yet. It almost seems like there's a resistor in there that has to recharge. If the window won't go up, i can wait a few seconds and push the buttom again and it will go up a little bit and then stop. The longer I wait, the more it will go up before stopping. For now, I'm fine with the whole waiting game, but if it gets worse I'll try to fix it.

i had the same problem on my 94 supreme on the driver's side window...it would just get stuck at certain points and i would have to pull it up and push it down...i never found out what the problem was but it seems to be common so i'm sure someone around here knows what's wrong

Check those rubber strips on either side of the glass. If they are worn water could get in and cause damage. Beyond that I would try replacing the motor if it gets any worse.

Re: 95' Cutlass Cierra Power window problem

i would think maybe the track needs some lubrication on it, but the problem almost sounds like its not that, i had a problem on the passanger window where it just bounced on the way down, and got annoying, but what i did was spray some WD40 on the little plastic strips on both sides of the glass, as well as in the sides of the door where the window rides. it helped me, but im not sure about your problem, maybe it can help
