External temperature sensor problem

Hello all
My 307 is playing up again this time with the external tempreture sensor. the outside even now is reading 54c, The car has been back to the dealer, i don't know how many time now . They have told be that it is quite a common problem on the Pug range to have this fault Of course they will sort it at a cost, but this problem stems or seems to stem when they reloaded the ECU to sort out the electrics turning off as and when.

Anyone know how to get the sensor out ? it is in the N/S/F wing mirror, and is it a difficult job ?
Many thanks
AVAGO

Re: Now HOT

A common problem ?... In my family and friends, "we" have a 406 Coupé, 2 407, a 307 SW, a 206 and a 607, no one has had this problem... maybe your dealer is not excellent !?

Question Re: How HOT

I tend to agree that the dealer is not that good, they were very very good but now who knows what has happened .
Anyway I have purchased a new sensor £15. Does anybody know if the sensor has to be wired is any particular way, both wires are black with no markings.

Re: How HOT

For that, I would say that there is no sense, as there are no markings, but I'm not sure at all Good luck by the way !

Question Re: Now HOT

Well its done, and working. The it can be wired either way, I just metered the unit out Set to Ohms and it gave the same reading either way. Of course the wires were not long enough. a bit of cut/solder and heat shrink. I also had a problem with the boot release, this was down to the lock grease was rock hard and the microswitch was clogged up with dirt.
like I say its all done and working, get it cleaned inside and out and then get rid of it,
Peugeot---would I buy another
NO-- not unless they get their act together on on dealerships / reliability / and customer peugeot support on line, who by the way seem to have an attitude of we have your money now go away.

Re: Now HOT

I'm a little bit surprised about all these problems you meet on your 307, unless if it is one of the first made, and in this case, like on all the cars, the reliability is less good (on the 6 first months of commercialisation in general).
For the after sale service, I would recommand you to write a letter to Peugeot UK and tell them what happened and why you wouldn't buy another Peugeot... maybe they will make somethink to keep you as client.

By the way, what do you think to buy after the 307 ?
