BIZZARO Front differential leak
I'm spotting some gear oil from my 98 Blazer's front differential. It appears to be coming from where the front driveshaft enters the front differential. I can't find mention of whether there is a seal in there (though, there must be). All the sources I've looked into mention a pinion seal at the REAR differential where the rear drive shaft enters. Anyone ever replace this?

Re: BIZZARO Front differential leak
Have you checked your fluid level? Maybe it is overfilled.

Re: BIZZARO Front differential leak
Yep, there is a GM front pinion seal about $8 and its a bear to brake that nut loose - sure its pinion and not the oil cooler line above it or the filter adaptor leaking - seen both leak.

Re: BIZZARO Front differential leak
Front pinion seal.
Just did mine 2 weeks ago. Cheap job to have done. Suggest having a good mechanic to do it seeing you will have to properly preload the bearing again.
