I took my car to get looked at a while ago, but they found "nothing wrong." Well I hear a grinding noise every time I turn the steering wheel to the right. It grinds on a slight rights and hard rights, so I think there might be a problem. The mechanic said it was my 20" wheels rubbing but I see no signs of it rubbing. I don't know what to check for or to look at and I really don’t want to drive the car without having an idea of what's going on. Please help...

Re: Suspension help...
could be a bad wheel bearing, if it's only when you turn right check the drivers side, when the load from the weight transfer hits it, thats when you'll really hear it. But if it is that then you should (but not always) hear a moan at a highway speed as well.

Re: Suspension help...
I do hear it at highway speeds. How do I go about checking that?

Re: Suspension help...
Grab them with your fingers and tug them away from the inside rotor face. I had a Dodge pickup that would collect stones between this plate and rotor when off-roading and deep mudding. Would make the most horrible noise. Jumping out of the truck into a dry spot, I could wedge gloved fingers slightly behind the plate by the edge and tug on it. Out would fall a few rocks and she'd be good to go again.

Re: Suspension help...
If by chance it is that and something is stuck in there, then check the back sides of your rotors as well. Chances are that it would tear it up and put a nice grove in the rotor making it a little unsafe.

Re: Suspension help...
Thanks, one more question my brakes squeak sometimes when the car is moving but stop if I apply a little pressure to the brakes? How do you fix this? So many little things need to be done to this thing!

Re: Suspension help...
Yep, yep, what Rlith said. Also, use a good synthetic caliper grease on the slide pins that hold the caliper in place on the hubs and you'll be golden.
