300ZX builder

Hey all i personally don't have the time but I have the money for a built up Z. I know that there have to be engine/car builders out there that have a reputation for this sort of thing. I want my dream car to be built. I know that this comes off as extremely lazy and such but since I'm going to college in the fall I just won't have the time to do any work on the car, since the school is accelerated. So I was wondering if there was anyone for the Nissan world that is the equivilent of JG Engine Dynamics for Honda and such. If there is hit me back with a website so I can check em out and if they don't have one then don't bother they obviously aren't reputable enough to be proud of their work then. Unless I get like many many replies about them. I'm looking for a complete engine rebuild and full suspension. I'm looking for a car that can run high 11s low 12s easily and also be able to handle some AutoX, but still be reliable. And since the 300ZX is my dream car thats the one I'm looking to modify. I'll buy one and have it shipped to the person and have them work on it then send it back to me. Thanks in advance, Carl

Re: 300ZX builder

well, according to your profile you live in Utah. i don't know of any Z specialists in that area but there could be one close.

a few to check out that have experience with the Z and building various things for them.

http://www.importpartspro.com (Kyle Puckett is known to be one of the best VG builders in the country but i don't think he does full blown car builds)

http://www.z1motorsports.com (The biggest Z shop in country)

http://www.sgpracing.com (Tons of experience with different cars, seem to be a reputable shop though they have had a few blemishes on their record since Kyle left)

http://www.specialtyz.com (ran by Greg Dupree, awesome guy that owns a 9 second Z32...very knowledgable, the elite.)

there are a few more well known shops and a few other places that specialize in certain things. check out the stickys for the Z resources.

Z1motorsports would be your best bet for what you are looking for but they are on the other side of the country so i don't know how well that would work. I guess if this is really what you wanted to do, you could buy a Z32TT and drive it over there and drop it off and take a plane ticket home. then hop a plane there when its done and drive it home.

good luck.

Re: 300ZX builder

I've heard of Z1motorsport, I met a guy who was going to send his Z32TT to Z1 to get done up. He showed me the invoice, it was roughly $40,000. (might of been less, but it was something stupidly high)

... Yeah, no seriously... I saw that and just wanted to kick a puppy. Make me feel better about being poor.

no doubt...there are quite a few Z32's with that kind of money into them. to spend it all at once is insane but ya know, some people have nothing better to do with their money.

as for Z1motorsports, they do just about everything in house. this is why they are probably the best choice to send your Z32 to have it built all at once. you can spend a few grand or $40k, either way they can do it and i have spent well over $5k with them i don't have a complaint worth talking about. they are very helpful and knowledgable, especially Robert. *Z1 promo over*
