2003 GT A/C, moisture-condensation problem
Recently I bought a 2003 GT 5 speed, and I just took it on my first road trip. Driving back the temperature was in the 90s and we were doing between 60 and 80 mph the entire trip with the AC on for about 5 hours. Upon arriving home, I notice quite a bit of water dripping out of my exhaust. My Thunderbird drips water from the tail pipes, so perhaps this is normal. However, the Mustang is dripping water under the car where the exhaust pipe (only the right side) connects to something...sorry, I don't know what it is.
Upon further inspection inside the car, I notice the passenger side of the car is all wet. Behind the glove box, what I am assuming is the heater core, is all covered with moisture and its actually dripping onto the floor. I called my friend who knows a lot about cars, and his comment was "You should talk to someone who knows Mustangs." Does anyone know if this is normal condensation for the conditions I was driving in? My Thunderbird doesn't do this so I am wondering. Oh, my warrranty runs out in 2 days!! Thanks for the advice. Re: 2003 GT A/C, moisture-condensation problem
The condensation is normal, but it is not draining properly. There should be a drain tube and these usually get clogged causing the condensation to drain in the passenger foot well instead of on the ground.

Re: 2003 GT A/C, moisture-condensation problem
yeah, fairly normal...you might get some small pipe cleaners (smoking pipe cleaners) and clean out the drain...it is located on the passenger side firewall just below the accumulator (black cylinder attached to the firewall about 8" round and 12" long)
