Red face No Spark

Well I now know that i have no spark, what is strange is that the car ran fine the night before. Drove to the store and came home and would not start the next morning. I was told that unplugging the computer might work, but am unsure about that. Any ideas what to check?
Have checked distributor and it looks fine.

Re: Re: No Spark

I took out at plug and turned the car over and see no spark, plus I sprayed liquid fuel into the intake and the car will not fire. I really don't know were to go next.

sounds like your ignitor is shot, which is in your distributor

yes it happens fast sometimes...bad thing about it is you need to replace distributor which is about $150.00. good thing is its not that hard to replace yourself.

Similar Problem

I have a very similar program. A 1991 Mazda 626 LX was running great then died suddenly. No spark. There is juice coming from the coil but not the distributor so it was replaced, along with the distributor cap and rotor. Still no spark. Before it happened, there were no warning lights, no sign of any kind of trouble.

Re: No Spark

Take your battery & get it checked. Some of these modern imports will not function properly (many different things) if your battery is putting out less than 11 volts. 1st, clean your battery connections (especially the ground), a bad ground can also cause a great deal of strange going ons! Sound too simple? You may be surprized. I had a 96 Chry. Cirrus that went completey, wipers running while switched off-car would not run w/headlights on-severe detonation & more. I cleaned the battery posts & ends, and it cured every problem! Yes, I was schockled dirty batt connections could cause such havoc! Good Luck-Ric
