Just a question about vtec controllers....

would it be a good idea to get a vtec controller for my type R and which are the best ones?

Apex'i V-AFC is the best, hands down. Go read about it on their website.

Does it really make much of a different to set vtec to engage at 3000 rpms instead of like 4500? Does it really make your car that much faster, like 1/4 mile time wise? Does your 0-60 improve that much? Or will you get better gains from bolt ons? I am just curious if a vtec controller is worth the 300 bucks if you put it on a stock car. Thanks.

Yeah I know, but it comes on in my accord at like 4500-4800. I was just curious as to whether or not vtec controllers really help out all that much. You would think that engaging vtec at such a low rpm would help a lot, but ive never really heard anyone talk about it.

on a stock car it is an ok mod. most people use them to smooth out the classic vtec dip and spike into a nice steady transition. its only on a modded car that you can really take advantage of it in the way it was supposed to used. sure its not going to huge gains or massive control like a standalone would but its deffinatly something nice to have to adjust your fuel settings when you start getting more on yur car that requires the alteration.

not to mention it looks cool as fuck and chic's dig it.

You don't want to set it that low.

If I had your car I would probably set it somewhere between 3700-4200rpm. You dont want to set it too low, like at 3000rpm.
