94 Buick LeSabre Blower motor on when key is off

I have pulled the relays out under the fuses at the firewall. I have pulled all the relays(?) behind the glove compartment (passenger side). Have I pulled the blower motor relay(?) or is there a variable voltage module inline somewhere?

There's a blower control module. When it shorts it causes the problem you described. I just replaced one on my 93 with a used one I found on ebay for about $20.00. They cost a lot more brand new. GM uses these on lots of cars so a junk yard may have one from an Olds, Buick, or other GM car. It's in the engine compartment near the firewall under the relay panel. It's located in the airstream of the blower motor to keep it cool. It's fairly easy to replace in about 30 - 45 minutes.

To be absolutely sure this is the problem, you could check it with an ohmmeter to see if it in fact is shorted from the voltage supply to the blower motor connection.

For now, you can just unplug the leads at the blower motor itself.

Thanks. There wasn't anything on ebay and the junk yard here wasn't very helpful. I got one from the dealer ($156.00). Easy job once I knew where it was located. Works great and the wife is happy again.

I used this forum to trouble shoot my 93 lesabre and thats what it was. But I found a control module @ a local auto parts store that carries Delco for $91.00.
Thanks for the forum.

I have a "95" Lesabre limited with the same problem. I
can't find the control module on the engine compartment firewall as you describe it. Could it possibly be located somewhere else on the "95"?
Also, regarding the relays located behind and to the right of the glove box.
It seems to be a tight fit to get to them through the glove box. Is there a removable panel for easier access?
My Haynes Buick manual covers many years of Lesabres and doesn't provide component locations for specific years.
Thanks for any help that you can provide
Chuck

It is located in the fan box, below the relay/fuse panel. You will need to remove the relay/fuse panel cover and then remove two nuts holding the /relay fuse panel, then pull it forward to see it. Disconnect the wiring harness and remove three small screws. Pics below show location and what the module looks like. You can buy them new at Advanced Auto parts for about 100 bucks.

Thanks to HotZ28 for the location info. Found the module at a local junk yard for 20 bucks. Fixed the problem. Now the temp indicator flashes on and off for a short time after the car is started. Found another thread that describes how to extract the error codes, also thanks to HotZ28.

Unfortunately the codes on a 1994 and above require a scanner. Usually the codes will clear themselves if your system is operating normally, after about 50 ignition cycles, and the flashing light will disappear. If you actually do have a system malfunction of some type, the code will continue to flash.
