Part-out of wrecked 2002 Xterra

I posted back in October about a wrecked 2002 Xterra that I had talked
to the owner about parting out. It took a good hit on a telephone
pole sideways just in front of the RF door with impact to the RF
wheel and fender, then somehow rolled over on the drivers side and
ended up on its roof nose-down with the driver's A-pillar collapsing.
It's a 2002 Molten Lava colored XE V6 non-supercharged 4x4 automatic.
Interior is Grey Celadon. It has the power and utility packages, but
I think it does NOT have the sport package. I will verify soon.
Preliminary details about what is ruined and what's good are at the
end of the post. Pictures can be seen here:
http://mywebpages.comcast.net/xterra/Wreck/

The owner expects to unload the vehicle in January sometime and is
still interested in letting us have at it if we can make it worth his
while. I need to give him an idea of how much money he might expect
to make from this project so I need to hear from anyone interested in
parts soon.

The vehicle is located just North of Baltimore, MD in an outdoor
storage lot. We'll have one weekend, maybe two, to pull parts.
Hopefully the weather will cooperate, but I get the impression the
owner will be somewhat flexible. He really just doesn't want it to
drag on.

I am willing to pull some small and/or light parts and ship them, but
I would really ask that anyone within 3 hours make every effort to
come down and pull the parts themselves and hopefully help me pull
some for others too. Depending on the interest I get, I might not
have the time to get everything if I don't get good help. If I don't
think enough help is coming to allow me to pull enough to generate a
good total for the owner, I'll have to scrap the idea entirely.

If you want something large or heavy like the engine or transmission,
you must be able to provide the necessary tools and equipment and come
and pull it yourself. I don't have an engine crane or transmission
jack and the like, not to mention the abilty to haul or time to ship
one.

What I'd like to do is handle this like a silent auction.
Bascially, email me with the part(s) you are interested in and what
you would be willing to pay for them on a per-part basis, not by the
lot, unless you will only take the items together as a lot. If you
want X, Y, and Z but won't take any if you can't have all three, then
it's OK to say "X, Y, and Z together for $200" but otherwise list a
price for X, Y, and Z individually.

Keep your prices reasonable, don't offer $10 for a wheel or $200 for
the engine, or the grand total I'm able to take to him won't be enough
to make it worth it and he'll sell the thing whole to a salvage shop.

Of course there are things I'm interested in, and yes I get first dibs
on them, but I don't have a lot of money to spare and I'll have to
pass up on many things and decide which ones I really want. Don't be
too concerned that I'll trump your bid, really.

I know there will be questions about the availability and condition of
parts and I will of course answer them. Please go ahead and include
your bid in advance
at the time of your inquiry so I have good
numbers to present to the owner by early January.

Email me at [email protected] with the subject "Xterra parts" to place your bids

Please include the following information
The items you want and any questions you have about them.
Any stipulations on the features or condition of the item you might
have.
List a price per item except in the case of items you will only take
if you can get all together.
If you will be able to come and take the part yourself or if you would
like me to consider pulling it for you and shipping it.
A phone number you can be reached at.

Here's what's a total loss:

Both front fenders, hood, both driver's side doors
Rear hatch is bent, interior trim looks OK though
Both passenger side wheels and tires.
All 4 seats except the rear seat cushions
Roof rack.
RR brake/drum and perhaps axle.
Radiator, grille, front bumper
Pretty sure the centerlink is dead, but it's mine if not.

Salvageable:

2 16" 4-spoke alloy wheels and steel spare, with tires
Driver's side step rail, pretty sure both are good.
Right front headlight/signal cluster, and maybe the left.
Both rear light clusters
LR corner bumper cap
Rear bumper
Passenger side power mirror
Front diff, one if not both axles, and hubs
Complete rear axle, though the right shaft and brake are iffy.
stereo (single-disc player)
Engine (to be verified), auto tranny, transfer case
Both right side doors and glass
All fixed window glass except windshield.
LR door glass
Most of the interior except the seats and perhaps the console.

Parts

Brent,

I need a couple of the plastic dealy bobbers that hold the back panels on. Actually the two nearest the hatch that look like a colon. : One above the other. Otherwise I am good on stuff. If you can get me those great. I will pay shipping and the cost for them. Let me know.

Hmm, I actually need one of those myself. To be honest though, just go to your dealer and look over the shoulder of the parts counter guy and look 'em up. They'll be maybe $.75 apiece and you'll have 'em in 2-3 days. If you really want to hold out for one from the wreck, I'll look into it.

Re: Part-out of wrecked 2002 Xterra

Any parts still available? Sorry for the delay but I'm a newbie & just seeing this post. In desperate need of a drivers side (is that L or R??) corner bumper cap.

Delay? Over 3 years is a bit more than a delay. No, nothing is available now.

And please you can post your question just once, that would be just wonderful...

Yeah "DELAY". I started out with an apology and that I just came accross this site but you still manage to flame a perfectly legit question. I guess we can all be happy that you don't delay...in being a jackass.

Thanks for nothing, another person with a better attitude actually helped me on another forum.

M'kay, whatever, you wanna post everything three times with no regard to how dormant the thread you're reviving is, knock yourself out. Meanwhile, I actually did provide an answer, with part number, in another of your posts here, or did you miss that?
