Exclamation need advice, and a little help from me friends!!

has anybody up-graded the stock shifter in a 1998-2001 jimmy/blazer to like b&m truck mega shifter?? is this impossible? tha b&m tech support guy said, get this, "i don't see why not."?!?!?!?!?!? not giving me a warm fuzzy. the big issue is where the shift control is/ the answer is if it is NOT in the shifter/console, it will work, but i can't find conclusive evidence of where the shift control is. i'm junking the pos console completely, and going to a 60/40 seats with an "old school shifter on the hump look if i can replace the stock shifter.
any help would be much appreciated, and the first cup of coffee is on me.
trusk is a 2001 gmc jimmy 2wd, 4dr, 4.3L v6, w code 4L60e tranny, stock rear.

You can do it easily enough. The 95+ shifters are cable driven not mechanical linkage. That said, personally I don't like the b&m shifters. I did do the column to center shift mod, but originally I used the typical jimmy/blazer/bravada center shiter. I eventually switched to the 2000 envoy center shift. (see the pics at www.pghconsulting.net/teal)

You may also want to get the center shift cable as the length and connectors are somewhat different at the shift end then the column shift cable. (At the transmission side they are all the same)

i already have the P.O.S. plastic fantastic leg numbing sle center console, and floor shifter stock. i ripped out the ugly center console, etc, and i wan togo to 60/40 split bench with the old school b&m truck mega-shifter on the hump like the old floor shoft cars of my miss spent youth. thanks for the come nnack, and the pic's look good, you've done some good work.
old jimmy's/blazers never die, they just get up-dated!!!!
