New Jaguar Owner...Hello

Hello everyone.
I have just purchased a new to me Jag XJ8-L and wanted to ask a few questions about the car. I thank you in advance for your replies and look forward to learning more about these magnificent automobiles.

1. CD player does not play?? I loaded CD's into the magazine but when I push the CD button on the radio it say "No CD". Is there a button to make the radio recognize the CD's?

2. Sun Roof?? Sun roof works fine but not sure about the switch. When I push to open, it will open all the way but when I push to close, it does not so I have to guess when it is properly closed?

3. Start up when cold? Start the car in the morning is fine but it does not always catch on the first turn of the ignition. Also it revs to about 1200 rpm's and then drops to the normal 800 and when it is revving in it is just a bit rough. Is this normal?

4. Mileage? I am averaging about 16 in the city which is majority of my driving, is that a normal figure.

I know this is alot of questions but I want to make sure I'm taking care of her properly. There are probably more questions that I can't think of now but I'll post them as they come to me or do a search for more specific problems.

Actually, I am looking to buy an xj8 and was wondering about the basis of your decision to buy one? I am somewhat concerned about reliablility. I know the this Jag is gorgeous and is a fairly good performer. I am focused on a 98 xj8 at the present. Any thoughts?
