matrix cold air kit

I just installed a matrix cold air kit for my civic, and it sounds like crap, there is a very loud sucking noise at idle. Just wondering if all of them sound like that or do I need to do something.

sorry man, Matrix intakes suck. I would save up and go pick up an AEM. They sound nice.

ive never had a matrix intake, but would it be as simple as getting a good filter, such as an aem or k&n? or does it have something to do with the way the pipe is made.

So what if it makes a loud sucking noise at idle? Isn't that's what a intake should do? To me it's just a sign saying that the intake is working properly.

I don't know what's up with AEM's intake that everyone is worshiping it, but I am glad that I don't have one in my civic.

well yea, i guess youre right it should make a sucking noise, and more so when youre accelerating, but he said it was a "very loud" noise. maybe civ69 and i have different opinions of what loud is. when im idling i really dont hear it much at all, unless i get out and stick my head next to the bumper.

and i know aem intakes are overrated, i honestly cant tell a difference between those and any others. but i got one because, excluding those no-name cp intakes, they are the only ones that are street legal.

yea, id like it hear it. also if you can record from inside the car.

ill be able to let you know if it sounds the same as soon as you post the clip. but i dont hear much when its idling.

and yea, youre right. there isnt much difference. but that blue coat does look pretty. although like i had mentioned, aem is carb exempt. so on the off chance you ever get pulled over, or your car gets checked by a cop(which im worried about around here) you wouldnt get ticketed for it. and since i have to get smogged next month, i needed something legal, cause i accidentally tossed out some of my stock box.
