How do I make a television season DVD
Ok, I gotta question.
How do you make a TV season DVD, like they have on sale, for example, you can get a season of Star Trek Next Generation on one or two discs which consist of several one hour episodes. I'm trying to do that since I have a crap load of Top Gear on my computer. I want to try and watch it on TV for a change and will put it on DVD+R-DL. I tried Roxio DVD builder and with season 6 and 7 all together, the project was estimated to be about 75 gigabyes large lol...Is it possible to make it so it can fit on one DVD+R-DL with several episodes on one disc?

well most of those TG episodes which i asume you torrented are either divx or xvid. To put them on a dvd-+R and play them on a regular dvd player you need to convert them to mpeg 2 format. Nero should have this option and roxio probably has it too. it should be called something like "make video dvd" or something. Another option is to pick up a DVD player with Divix/xvid capabilites, they are quite common nowadays and many of them even offer upsapling capabilities to make the most of an HDTV. If you pick one of those players just burn the episodes as a data disk and the player will recognise and play them. the reason your sofware probably told you that the whole thing will be 75GB or so is because it seems you selected both seasons to convert to mpeg2. Mpeg 2 is a far older format with much lighter compression so if you were to convert all those seasons into mpeg 2 from xvid it will take far far more space.

Re: How do I make a television season DVD
I recommend a program called ConvertX to DVD, just make sure you specify your Target Size as DVD-9. Every aspect of the playback, manu and chapter's is easily customizable and it's very easy to use. I would select highest quality/slowest encoding, and set the conversion priority to high and leave your PC alone until it finishes making your DVD, usually a couple of hours.

Re: How do I make a television season DVD
I successfully made a DVD of Season 6 and it's pretty cool. However, I still have some questions.
Thanks Oz for the software recommendation as well, very easy and simple. Is there any way I can improve the quality? It's kind of blurry and can be a little pixely. I did everything as you said Oz. Also, if I had less episodes (there were eleven total in season 6), would the increase in storage allocation on the DVD+R-DL give way to better quality?
