in-progress, Altezza RS200

Hi all,

It sure has been a long weekend, I've been upto a lot of modelling. I should have started this progress last week, but thanks to sk8er, who motivated me to progress on this kit. So here goes a week or so of building in one go..

Well, with the kit, it's the altezza rs200 gt wing version. I have managed to cut out the scoop in the bonnet, with a little styrene sheet and putty, and some serious rubbing to get it symetrical..

I was feeling a bit ambitious, and started to play with some more styrene sheet and putty, for the front, and the rear apron. It's my first time with putty, so I didn't handle anything too radical, just little improvements here and there.

After some time, I primed the body to check for blemishes, and as expected, I filled all the scratches with mr. surfacer, sand and primed again. Took a lot of time, as front bumper kept falling off, which then led me to cut out the front grill, for mesh later.

I couldn't decide on a colour for a little while, but just dropped by LHS, and the limited colour choices led me to finally choose a Tamiya Pearl Blue.

After many coats of paint to get the dark blue, I sprayed up the wheels too.. I took a set of r34 rims, in black, and a nice set of SAS discs behind them. Looking at many sources, I see a lot of c/f hoods. Im not very familiar with c/f, but what do you think for the finishing on the hood?? to c/f, or not to c/f??

While waiting for the paint to dry, so I can clear coat, have been working on other details, a muffler, and hopefully start the interior this week.. I haven't been on this forum for a long time, but it sure has been great inspiration for modelling.

the paint looks too nice to put cf on. I usually mask off a curbsides hood if it will be in cf. That way your not wasting paint.
