A/C R-135a refrigerant fill up

My blazer is 5 years old now, and A/C is not as cool as before.

so, I bought Artic freeze R-134a Auto Air conditioning complete Service Kit(This is brand name) from wal-mart.

From instruction, it mentions connecting port which locates between compresser and dashboard.

Opening hood and looking at it, this car looks to have 3 ports - one in delphi-made canister and one on the pipe just beside it and one on pump.

Which one is right one?

Advices, warnings, instructions will be appreciated.

You connect to the port on the canister (accumulator). That is the low-side port. It should have a black dust cap that you unscrew to get to it.

Re: A/C R-135a refrigerant fill up

#1 location would be where you connect to with that type of recharge . BUT you don't want to just add unless you know it is low on coolant . If the compressor is running like 15 seconds on and off . you are fine . IF it cuts on and off every 2 or 3 seconds then you are low . If you overcharge it , you will blow O rings or the compressor out . use a gauge to check the pressure at the #1 location while the compressor is running . You should have between 25 & 45 psi . Rob

Re: A/C R-135a refrigerant fill up

Hey, I've been having trouble with this too, and I don't understand other posts that have been made. My A/C turns on and blows, but it doesn't blow cold at all, it just blows warm air. So I went to autozone and purchased a bottle of the cheap refridgerant crap with the gauge on it. My a/c cuts out every 2-3 seconds. But it cuts out when it reaches the red zone, which is like 65-70. So that seems really high, and I don't know what to do now. I would greatly appreciate a lil help. Thanks in advance!

First thing is you need a set of air cond recharge gauges to safley and propley check a air cond system.
Thak that air cond recharge kit back and demand your money back.
They are death kits for yourself and your air condition system.
Some have stop leak and noncompatable oil even contain butane/propane mixers that will blow up.
Get the proper equipment and freon to checkor recharge it.

MT

Here is some info on it.
I would suspect a major leak.
#1 Freon is non consumable, if it's not there then there is a leak
#2 A/C is a delicate balance between liquid/gas (low side/high side) and too much freon is just as bad as not enough
#3 If you are not prepaired to buy a set of A/C gauges, and be willing to possibly buy a vaccum pump or a/c die and replace the proper componets, then don't even waste your time.
#4 90% of the time your going to have to pull a vaccum, flush the lines and most the time replace the accumilator and the Oriface tube/expansion valve.
#5 The only easy fix is if one of the pressure switches is bad, there is no just add freon fixes.
#6 Please Please don't just add freon w/ a charging kit because you think it needs it, It doesn't work like that.
#7 These guys are a execlent source for help and if you listen to the procedures as you are told you will end up w/ some ice cold A/C, being hard headed is expensive.

#8 And here is a link from AC kits.com to what a person needs to recharge a air conditioning.
A/C starter Kit
#9 Adding freon to a system that has a good charge can be dangerous and can cause you harm, if the pressures get to high and blow the freon can or something in the system.
