short ram intake problem

i have a sr intake for an xrs but was told it would fit on an xr....

installed it fine but when engine starts the idle isnt stable and jumps.

tried putting back old airbox with same probs.

anyone know how long to reset ecu?

usually an hour or two with battery disconnected
