93 rear hatch

this might be a stupid question but ...when u hit the hatch release button inside the cab is it supposed to automatically open the hatch or does that just unlock it for just a moment....

On the small Blazers it's suposed to pop it, so that you can just pull it open.
To lock it just slam the (glass in our case) down and it's locked.

I really can't see the Full sized version being much different. It has to give you the time to open it by hand.

That's how my '93 used to work. Now, sometimes it sticks and doesn't open or when you slam it shut, it doesn't lock. When it was newer, there were no problems. Probably, a little lubricant would help.

They do need some Lubercant. Evert 6 months or so I squirt in some spray grease.

I've had the displeasure of opening them when that latch isn't working, and it can be tough
