Inputs on the stock stereo?
Okay, I looked several pages back to see if anyone had already asked this, and I didn't see it. Hopefully I'm not repeating someone else's question:
I was wondering what type of inputs are on the stock head unit (I have a 2004 LS Sport), I wanted to see if there was a way to hook up my iPod without spending a ridiculous amount of money for the adapter. I have an iTrip, but I am not pleased with the sound. I can find almost any cable to run with an 1/8", and already have the 1/8" to rca for my home stereo. Thanks for any help! |

Re: Inputs on the stock stereo?
I'd say your best bet is to save up and buy an aftermarket stereo, NO factory stereos have RCA outputs or inputs, some newer stock stereos have an 1/8 inch AUX input on the face, which will work great if your's has one. I have never "seen" an aftermark unit with RCA INPUTS though, but most aftermarket stereos have an 1/8 inch AUX input.
I'm not sure how those adaptors work, but I would assume they a FM modulator, which does not give you true 16-bit stereo sound, and for the money it costs, you could buy a used stereo, just make sure it has an AUX input on the face. |
