Crack?

Hi, we just purchased a 94 Ford Taurus as a work commuter car.
Have found there is a small crack in the frame... Can we fix this? Obviously we dont want to just junk it, because otherwise its an awesome car.
Any ideas of what we need to do?

Thanks for any tips you can offer!

Re: Crack?

The Taurus is a "unibody" car, you might want to be more specific where you found the crack.........

Re: Crack?

Sorry, I lost my first post... Guess I omitted it from the second

The crack is on the drivers side between the front & back doors. Less than 1" in size

Re: Crack?

Is it in the door jamb area, or underneath? If underneath, is it on what one might consider the subframe connector?

Many years ago, I had a 1988 Escort EXP. It started pulling horribly bad under braking and had severe torque steer, as well as a goofy noise over bumps. I put it up on the hoist and found that there was a crack where the front "subframe" connected to the unibody, just behind where the lower control arm mounted. I took it to a body shop and they welded it back together, even checked it on the frame machine and checked the alignment. They even painted and undercoated the area, all for $69. They said they had seen it before. I live in Iowa where they use salt to melt the winter snow and ice.
