Still loosing coolant/Spurratic Light

Hey guys, i had a coolant problem a week ago, i thought it cleared itself up but apparently not. I drive around and coolant light comes on if i take a corner quickly, if i jerk it the other way it turns off sometimes. Today it wudnt turn off again, i check under the hood and there is no coolant in the overflow, there was some in the resovoir but not close to the FULL COLD mark in the overflow tank, but the last time the light stayed on i checked and i had coolant in the overflow..

Either way i lost 2 bunches of coolant now. I found where its leaking from but have no clue why/exactly where. It is leaking from more so the passenger side, looks like its right under the pulleys, its coming from right close to the crankshaft pulley.. and drips on the ground ever so slowly, but it seems as it only drips after its been running, if it sits for a long time it will stop dripping. I think its the water pump but i cant see it coming directly from the water pump? Does anyone know what the problem is? Bad bearing/seal somewhere? I wish i could be more specific on where the leak is but its hard to tell exactly.

Plus i dont know if this is right either, outside of the tank around the cap there is white deposits, looks like burnt coolant, there is only a little, and a little on the actual coolant cap, but i think the caps still good. P.S. No hose leaks.

If anyone could suggest anything it would be greatly appreciated, sry the post is long and kinda all over the place

It doesent look like its coming from the water pump tho, although it might be time to change it anyways..

My Daughter's car had the same problem a few months ago.

Cavalier2000 is probably correct. The water pump has two weep holes, one you can see above the shaft, and 1 you can't under the shaft. When the bottom weep hole goes, it doesn't appear to be from the pump, because the coolant drips down onto the frame rail and comes out somewhere behind the pump and hits the ground.

A simple test would be to feel around under the water pump (with engine off).
If your finger (s) come out with coolant on them, it's the pump.

Re: Still loosing coolant/Spurratic Light

It sounds like the 2nd weep hole that u cant see like u said. Ive felt around the water pump a few times and it has been dry, but a bit under it where it comes from/runs down is wet, i cant tell if its the pump or not still, its annoying! Im gonna have to jack the car up with a friend and check it out, ive had to refill coolant in there a few times now! Ill see if i can take a picture so you guys can see what im talking about.

Better yet if someone has a big picture of their engine area could you post it then i can circle it as i dont have a digital camera Thanks
