Engine codes P0113B, P1404B

I'm looking to buy an 1996 S-10 but the owner said that the check engine light is on and these codes come up Codes are P0113B= IAT Sensor(circuit high voltage)
P1404B= EGR Valve Closed(pintle position) Are these any thing to worry about and if so are they an easy fix? I'm a fairly skilled driveway mechanic but i've never owned a truck that had a computer <img>

Re: Engine codes P0113B, P1404B

P0113 - Intake Air Temperature Sensor impossibly high. Either the sensor has failed, or the circuit to it is grounded (shorted).

P1404 - Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Closed Position Performance. The valve may be stuck closed, or the feedback module in the valve (or its circuit) has a problem.

If the truck is in good condition otherwise, and the price is reasonable, it wouldn't scare me away. A replacement EGR valve is about $160. An IAT is about $24.
