Rally cars

Could anybody tell me how I would go about converting a street car into a rally car?

completely stripped interior (probably means scratchbuilt gear shifter, dashboard, steering wheel, etc.) skid plates for the suspension, big brakes, sponsor decals + driver + event decals, foglights (depending on type of rally), and what Daryl said

drop the suspension? that's fine for a tarmac rally car, what about a gravel rally car? that would require a lift...more challenge!!

What are skidplates and how would I scratchbuild a dashboard? I have made seats and gearshifts but never a dashboard.

skidplates are sheets of carbon fibre of kevlar that are bolted on the underside of the engine and critical parts of the chassis to protect ot from rocks and debris on the road, they don't always use skidplates on tarmac rallies, but will always have them on gravel rallies.
If you want to get better ideas to every aspect of rally cars, here are 2 great sites for reference photos:
www.rallycars.com
www.wrc-online.net
just look through the galleries on these sites, they have some amazing photos which are great for reference....

You could go for a groupN or showroom class rally car which is a cars as it left the showroom with just minor alterations. I forget the full list of mods allowed but the most obvious one's are the roll-cage, wheels and tyres.

I have big, beautiful and really detailed pictures of Ford Focus WRC tarmac version (2001) if anyone's interested. But the pics are huge, so be warned.

Alex,
I am interested in those pictures, I have a Focus 2001 in my closet awaiting my attention.
Riddla,
There ARE photos out there, it really just takes time to find them, I have managed to before, the photos I found are all saved on my work PC so right now I don't have them.....

Has anyone built the Corvette C5-R? If so, is the square plate at the rear end of the belly pan a skid plate?

Ray: Appreciate the help.
