1991 Cav, no spark (DSI)
I really need this car guys,3.1,no spark.What would you try first?Cheapest and easiest.....crank sensor,or ignition module (DIS)......or am i over looking something?

All 3 coils wouldn't go bad at once would they? And if only 1 went bad,wouldn't it try to fire?This is the first DIS i ever owned,so i appreciate your help......

What fuse would cut all spark?(none seem ignition related)........all coils going at once doesn't seem likely,or is that common?Could you give me a quick explination of the "ECM".I will see if i can get a cheap module from the salvage yard.....I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR INPUT,THANK YOU

Your module is responsible for spark up to 400 rpm I believe. Then the ECM takes over. As I recall it is under the coils on this engine. The coils plug directly into/on to it, so all 3 will need to be removed. Good Luck.

btw:
the ECM is the "Engine Control module" or computer under the dash- behind the glove box. the "Module" or "Ignition Module" is the black component that the coils plug into or onto. The module (the one on the motor) provides spark up to 400 RPM then the ECM takes over. This is because once the motor is running things get complicated (emissions, changes in speed, temp, oil pressure, etc...) Hope this helps. again Good Luck.

Thanks,folks.....because it started once in a blue moon when cold,i ruled out any fuses.....i got the module check at Auto Zone...they said it was ok....put it back together and it ran,til it got hot.I got a module with coils at a salvage yard,and it seems to be ok.Auto Zones test, i don't think, was too good because the older distributor modules when they HEAT tested them,THEY WERE HOT.....they did the test 4 times and i held the module in my hand with no problem.$40 for the whole deal was not bad for a 2000 year module WITH coils.....$235. for all new stuff.A BUGGER TO CHANGE (hard on an old fellas back and knees) THANK YOU FOR THE HELP!!
