Angry EST location to set timing

89 suburban. Can't find the EST (Electronic Spark Timing)wire (tan w.black strip) to unplug to set the timing. This has to be unplugged before i can set the timing.
Or does anyone have their timing set without unplugging the EST?

thanks

Mark

Look under the r/s lower dash behind where the carpet meets the lower dash under the heater case, pull back the rug.

Re: EST location to set timing

on my 92 k1500 the wire is on the passenger side firewall, under a small black plastic cover.....see where the heater hosees connect to the heater core just above that on the passenger side firewall. THere are a couple of black plastic nuts that hold the cover on.

I used to own an 88 full size jimmy with a 350 in it and that wire was under the hood on the passenger side firewall but it was not behind any kind of cover though.

Re: EST location to set timing

They didn't start putting the est connector under the dash until '94, so it is going to be under the relay cover, right side fire wall under the hood.
