93 runs rich, hesitates and keep getting codes
ive got a 93 2500 4x4 350 with a 4l80e. I keep getting codes 43 and 59. It fires up great when cold and hot but when cold, as soon as you give it gas it stumbles and wants to stall then catches itself and stays running. When driving, when giving it WOT, it pings like crazy and then SES light comes on. I have so far changed ECM, chip, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, distributor, ignition module, coil, knock sensor, o2 sensor, fuel filter, air filter. My EGR valve holds vacuum.
Also the tranny is jumping around a bit. By this i mean it will bog down when driving, almost feels like im in 4th gear instead of 3rd. Then when i give it a good shot of gas, the rpms will jump up and it feels like it downshifts to where it should be and takes right off. Timing has been set. No vaccum leaks around the throttle body. Any help/idea/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

Don't know what you mean by a 4/80e but it sounds lean to me. Check fuel pressure/ pump. If its stock tbi 9- 13 lbs is neccesary. A vacuum leak somewhere perhaps?

Re: 93 runs rich, hesitates and keep getting codes
4l80e is the transmission model that is in the truck. The two codes you are getting are: 43: Knock sensor Circuit- Signal to PCM has remained low for too long, or the system has failed a functional system check. 59: Transmission Fluid temperature low- Transmission fluid temperature greater than -33*C(-27*F) for one second.
I would assume that the knock sensor would be causing you poor running problems as this is what the computer uses as a tool to adjusts the timing. Mike |
