Jaguar XJ220

Hi all!

I thought some of you may like to have a look at my Jag XJ220. It's an AMT/Ertl kit. I call this one my first REAL model. I nicknamed it "learning curve". I have done a few others but they are all really bad. Anyway, i'm still working things out. Enjoy!

And please, if anyone has suggestions for improvements, i'd be more than happy to hear them!

Re: Jaguar XJ220

Looks great, considering it's your first REAL model! Good job!

However, since you wanted to hear points of improval; you painted the interior gloss, it should be matt.

Re: Jaguar XJ220

exteriors looks good
a massive improovment could be a matt/semi matt coat in the interiors: that looks handpainted with a too tick paint: try to thin a bit, and... I don't like a lot chrome rims or better, stock chromed rims.
have a look on "how to" at photo section, but basically if you take photo seeng the sun you have only the model shape and everithing dark: it could be cool and useful sometimes, try with the sun at your back (we like to shoot models, not shadow)
well done in blue: I think the first I see. It's this AMT stuff a revell re-issue? seem the same

Thanks everyone!

I don't generally like chrome rims but XJ2220 rims are so plain, i thought if i stripped them they'd be more boring. Plus i couldn't be bothered

Re: Jaguar XJ220

Hey! Very nice job. Looks like you took your time and the effort payed off!!

Have to agree with the others on the 'interior' comments though. Flat or semi-gloss paints seem to look more realistic. And, actually, you could still apply some clear-flat over top of the interior and it would flatten everything out. Best to use a spray-flat though, becuase I haven't really had good success with any brush-on-flats....
