I got my Sparco Harness installed!

Damn it's so weird to drive with one of those on. When you go up and down on a twisty road you are held right down and around turns to. It's pretty sweet. Too bad my camera is not around or I would post a picture.

I just got some racing seats for my 'rex, where'd you mount the belts to? Looking for ideas... I know the 2nd gen rex came with the holes to bolt in a rear seat/seatbelts so maybe I can utilize those as I have no rear interior.

I got the belts from Modacar.com I ordered red and they sent me black, dumbasses. But oh well I rather keep black then waste time sending it back. At least it matches my interior with black. But anyway I just took the lap belt parts and bolted them to where the lap belts for the stock belt attached to, and for the vertical belts I ran them through the headrest down behind the seat and criss-crossed them and bolted them to the front of the rails. So far has worked fine.

Since I traded my stock seats for these I lost the receptical for the seatbelt that were on the seats so i've been driving around today with them rigged up. I pulled the passenger and drivers seatbelts towards where they would click in but with nowhere to attach I used a carabiner and connected them together. It looks fine (don't know about safety) and I don't get pulled over this way, i'm shopping for harnesses as I write this.

You did a bad thing if you have the shoulder harnesses mounted going downward past 45 degrees or so. Did the belts come with instructions? If the shoulder harnesses go down you risk spinal compression injury in the event of a frontal impact. The shoulder harnesses will pull DOWN as you go forward against them. Remember, we're talking some serious G forces here.

PFC, I used the rear belt mounts for my shoulder harness (on a hatch). Works good and is a tough mount.
