I just found out that the #7 piston is @ 25 PSI. They tell me that I need to rebuild the entire motor, it will cost about $2,500 dollars. I have a 4.1 engine in the car. Q, can they just fix the bad piston or should I go and have the entire motor redone. The car has over 140,000 miles on the meter. HELP

Re: Bad Engine
Get a 4.5 Cad engine, direct replacement, quite a few suppliers out there also try GM Goodwrench engines. The 4.1 was bad from day one, don't waste money fixing yours.

You do not know what is wrong till you pull the and head/or piston, also check the camshaft this was another problem, how can anybody answer your question without knowing the exact problem?

Well I broke down and replaced the motor with what else a new 4.1 out of the box. I just can't see myself changing the motor to some other C.I.. See runs great now.
