Very inexpensive improvement
I have been tinkering with my 91 Honda civic DX for about 6 years now. I've had lot's of issues with shoddy mechanics, defective parts, insurance claims, leaking gaskets, noisy bearings, etc.
Sometimes my civic would burn 5W 30 faster than gasoline. It was a major sludge monster. Mechanics warned me not to do an engine flush because it's too dangerous for my high mileage oil burner. In January of this year I came across a product while searching the net. Auto RX. It claims to clean your engine safely without causing damage. After doing a bunch of research I used it. The results are amazing!!! I wish i knew about this product six years ago. I have switched from supra octane back down to regular unleaded. And it no longer knocks or pings!!! My car is actually faster! (Sorry I didn't have an independent mechanic do before and after compression tests to prove my statement. You'll just have to trust me.) It runs much smoother! It's almost like someone installed a new engine in my car for 25 dollars. I bought more bottles for friends and family. Note that those of you with new engines will, of course, not see the fantastic results that i did. I want to share this knowledge with the forum. In return i'm hoping that someone here might provide some advice on some other issues my civic has. thanks for reading |

Re: Very inexpensive improvement
Wouldn't the removal of carbon deposits on old, worn piston rings cause even more oil consumption?

Re: Very inexpensive improvement
Very good point. People have told me that i'd be better off not messing with the sludge, "Sludge is your friend."
They say that sludge and carbon deposits make "a false seal." It's hard to tell exacty whether or not my car is consuming more oil because of other variables; the repair of a faulty gasket and a switch from 5weight to 15weight oil. I do consume less, of course, after repairing a gasket that was leaking in a major way. It doesn't seem to be measureably worse. However, i certainly do NOT regret using Auto Rx. Others have reported that oil burning is reduced. Unfortunatley this has not happened to me yet. If you want you can search Auto Rx on this forum. http://theoildrop.server101.com/cgi/...=0;DaysPrune=0 |
