Re: What are the best modes to increase power on my fiesta

Please tell me you're joking.

You're not, are you?

Let me break the news. The Fiesta is an economy car. You don't tune it for more power. You could try, but really it would be more productive to use that money to save up for a better car.

Nobody's replied to your post because the question you pose make you look like you have no idea about what you're talking about.

Generally when people want to start modifing their cars they start with a less restrictive intake and exhaust system. Do a Goggle search for "cold air induction systems" and you'll find all sorts of information.

If you're more ambitious you can hook-up a Nitrous Oxide system pretty easily. NOS has many different systems for various applications, I recomend you give their site a look. Nitrous kits run about $500 to $600, though.

If you don't care to much about the life of your engine you can also hook up a "power dial". A company called Hurricane sells these. All they are is a potentiometer (variable resistor) that goes between your intake temperature meter and ECI that creates more resistance, fooling the car into thinking the intake air is warmer that results in a richer mixture. You can buy one of Hurricane's for abotu $40 or go to Radioshack and buy a potentiometer for about $2.

My suggestion? Save your money and do some research for a better car (keep your Fiesta if you want milage though).

.
I think a small light weight car is perfect for making fast. The lighter it is the less power it takes to go fast. Usally there are a hand full of more power full motor's that can be swaped in.

Do you suggest he buy's a huge lead brick to try to make fast?

Re: What are the best modes to increase power on my fiesta

my 1.25 Zetec-S was 74 bhp as stock. I have done the following modifications and resulted in 98 bhp:
Green Filter induction kit £30 + 2 bhp
HKS cold air induction pipe £27 + 4 bhp
Powerflow Exhaust system De-cat £140 +10bhp
Powerchip (increases fuel consumption a lot!!) £40 + 8 bhp.

I get a lot more pickup from the throttle and it feels a little more nippy. Another option is what sk8ter_in_NY suggested and try fitting a 2.0 zetec lump. For ease though a 1.6 Zetec-S fiesta block will fit onto the same gearbox making life a lot easier (and cheaper)

Ignore no-one's fool, doesnt sound to me like he likes fiesta's all that much. I also have a 1995 Nissan 200sx turbo which is paid £1800 for and its good for 220 bhp at the rear wheels!! Expensive on the insurance though at my age!

Best of luck with the mods
Ben
