Problems....
The Boot stucked when i pressed the button to open the top. Then i cant close the boot with the key any more. have put the car to an auto electrician for two weeks, still dont know what happened. Have checked the gear of the tiler, they are all good.
Does anyone know if i close the boot manually. Will everything back to normal?? e.g no beep noise, the boot can open/Close with the key, the car can drive etc. The Cable which use to close the boot manually is broken, i will have to change it before i can close it. |

Re: Problems....
The boot getting stuck is a very VERY common problem with the transtop mechanism. All of the gears inside the mechanism are made from plastic, which is weak. You may not be able to see it, but I am almost certain that one of the gears is broken or not working correctly. There are a few companies that make metal replacement gears for the transtop which are much better. Search this forum for a member named "mariejader". That member owns a shop in Scotland that specializes in TransTop repair. They might be able to help you out with your problem.
Also, it is my understanding that if the TransTop gets stuck and you manually crank it down, once you press the button again, it will only get stuck again. |

Re: Problems....
I believe what you said is correct.. if you get it cranked all the way down and closed then you don't run into the engine cut problem.
US del Sols didn't come with the transtop, so my knowledge of them is limited. Sorry. |
