Testing the cooling fans
95 3.1, How can you check the cooling fans to see if they are operating correctly. The drivers side runs all the time, the passenger side; well, I have never seen it run. It will free spool if I turn it by hand.
We are running 90-94 temps outside in H-town right now and I do not need problems when we hit 100-105 temps. Temp guage is running a little below normal/middle, and generally runs there all the time. I know I need a real set of guages, but that will come soon. Thanks in advnace. Mud

Re: Testing the cooling fans
There should be two relays in your underhood relay center. One marked primary cooling fan, one marked secondary. When you put the a/c control to MAX, both fans should kick on. IF not you may have a bad relay or two. Since the one fan is on all the time, it's possible that relay is stuck on, or someone bypassed the relays and wired the fan direct to come on with the ignition.
