Lowering my eclipse spyder?
Hi guys!
I want to lower my eclipse spyder GS 97, but I don't know where to search, so I tried Ebay. There is spring at 15$ (+65$ for the shipping to Canada). I think it's a little bit cheap right? What should I check? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/95-99...QQcmdZViewItem Are they any good? Basically, I don't do any track racing with my car, I just want it to be lower. I still can't lower my car much, because where I live, the road are all broken and there is a lot of bumps. Also, some sellers say that their springs will not fit an eclipse spyder, only a hardtop one. Is there any difference in the suspension between an eclipse spyder and a hardtop one? Thanks for your help! |

The ones in that link are the "slip over" type coilovers that are adjustable in height, I have heard both good and bad about these springs.

Re: Lowering my eclipse spyder?
ok and sorry to sound like an idiot but when lowering a car do you just need springs or do you need to buy the whole kit with like coilovers and everything or do you just put the springs on and poof its lowered

Re: Lowering my eclipse spyder?
Lowering springs are just what the name says, it's a coil spring that is a one-height ride only. Upgrading shocks is a damn good idea too. Coilovers is a coil spring with an adjustable height sleeve so you can adjust the ride height that you want. Cheap coilovers come with just the spring/sleeve combo and expensive coilovers come as a whole suspension piece, spring/sleeve combo and shock.

Re: Lowering my eclipse spyder?
Dude i had a 98 rs eclipse and bought the cheap coil overs off ebay and slammed mine into the ground man. I mean you could barely even get ur foot underneath and it looked real good man but started causing problems after awhile. if you are gonna do coilovers, then dont forget about struts and DEFINTELY a camber kit. Coil overs eat ur tires like crazy because the hubs cock in. And the struts because your car is not very stiff. My car wasnt really to ruff and my stock struts held but i went to SKunk2 and found a really good set for 200 and I am seriously 110 % more satisfied. They look better and have a better choice of where i want my car from the ground
